Hi Everyone,
I have a Canon XL H1 and a Firestore FS-4 Pro HD. It took some trial and error but everything seems to be working fine at this point with one exception. I can't seem to get the firestore to playback hdv footage through the viewfinder of the Canon. I searched the universe for a thread on this and the only thing that I could find was someone with the same problem, but there wasn't a reply. In that thread he stated that DV played back but HDV would not.
I would like to use the Firestore to go tapeless from time to time but I'd hate to go that route only to come home and find an empty drive. During my setup prior to getting all of the menu items dialed in, the Firestore showed clips being recorded but the drive ended up being empty so I am nervous.
Lastly, if in fact the Firestore does not offer playback through the viewfinder, is there any other means of verifying that you really have some clips short of hauling around a laptop with 1394 inputs?
Thanks very much,
Richard
