I changed all the names of the Custom Presets rather than the designated Canon numbers.......eg. CP1. CP 2 etc.

However, I can not display the names of my settings and the original CP numerical designations are the only display I observe. The names are PRESENT in the MENU only.

Yes that's normal. Same as XL H1. I guess they figured that there wasn't enough real estate on the screen to allow for the full preset name. A small cheat sheet with CP numbers and names is a good thing to carry around... considering how many presets you have access to.
