I am working on aproject that will require some of the voices to sound like they are coming over the phone. In this production there will be several conversations that will take place over the phone and whenever you hear the speaker and it is showing the listener the voice always seems slightly distorted.

I am just not sure how to achieve this effect. I have the Adobe Production Studio so I have Adobe audition and PPro 2.0. Can anyone help me with the best way to do this?

By the way...I am really green on Audition so I may need a little extra help if I can't do it in PPro

Thanks in advance of any help you can send my way.

The wideband phone filter I have as a Soundtrack Pro effect does a cut-off of everything below 500 hz and everything above 5000 hz.

If you want the slight distortion (partly due to the carbon button mics in older handsets), add a distortion effect and adjust it to your liking. The main thing though is the limited frequency response that makes the voice un-natural sounding.
