View Full Version : working with the 250 and redrock Obin Olson November 10th, 2006, 01:56 PM Hey guys, thought you would like to know that I setup a demo 250 today with the redrock and PL cine lenses, it looks pretty good, I think this would be a good system for anyone that wants the cine look on a budget, I was called in to help setup the unit for a jvc demo here in Wilmington NC with the cucaloris film fest going on over the weekend. We setup Joe Dunton 35mm primes on the unit today. questions? Andrew Young November 12th, 2006, 07:51 AM Hi Obin, Which lens are you using betwen the HD250 and the Redrock? What aperture is it set at? How is the overall sharpness and the edge to edge sharpness on the ground glass? Obin Olson November 12th, 2006, 01:28 PM looked pretty good, I only had the viewfinder to setup though..use f1.4 on the stock lens, someone is coming with an adapter so you don't need the lens on the camera...but I can't say who is doing it..;) Obin Olson November 12th, 2006, 01:30 PM once the relay is out this will be a KILLER setup for indy filming, OH I jsut got the redrock follow focus...it's just...AMAZING really really well made PRO device!! Does the RedRock follow focus have any play in the wheel? I believe past reviews have said that it did--or I could be confusing this unit with another focus unit. Is this the original design or a revision with a different gear box? How does the Redrock follow focus compare to the Petroff? Is the Fujinon gear now available? Will the RedRock Follow Focus work with the JVC 13x lens as well as the standard lens? Is the whip available now for the RedRock? Will this setup be at DV Expo in L.A.?
