I have a VX2100 which has served me well.. To date I have only been required to shoot SD 4:3, out-putting to DVD, so the cam has been good. I was not impressed with the audio on the VX so had it modified by Greg Winter - whose mod enables you to achieve DAT quality audio..
So the question is, what's the audio spec on the XH-A1.. I can't find it anywhere.
My mod'd VX gives me a a better Frequency Response, better crosstalk, dynamic range of 88dB (was 70.6) & Noise of -87.7dB (was -71.0). Does anyone know what these figures are for the A1; does anyone have the eqpt to measure them?
I'm debating upgrading to the A1 but I would hate to improve my video quality but downgrade my audio quality..!
Many thanks, Rgds, Ross.

A logical follow-on question re the A1's audio: has anyone yet used external mics with the A1 - either direct into XLR mic inputs, or via a mixer then into XLRs set to Line level..?
If so, what's the quality like / any discernable noise ? Obviously, this will greatly depend onquality of mics & mixer used..
Anyone?
Thx, Rgds, Ross.
