I am really wondering what the experiences here are with pulling the focus, and other ways of focusing with the letus series. I just shot my first video with a letus adapter and it looked great, but changing focus, specially in dolly and crane shots, was very difficult to manage.

I am considering buying a letusxl but I am sort of worried how to handle the focus. For instance, the redrock adapter also has rods and followfocus systems available.

What do letus users use for this (specially the xl series users)? Or do you have other tricks? I saw some threads were they mentioned the canavision products. Does this work well, some people here experienced those products?

I have the letus FE , not he Letusxl but I'm sure a follow focus with a whip should be useful. If you can afford it there are some systems with motors available. I'm poor, so I use indifocus with a HC1 .

warning!! the 2 accessories items are often on back order and will take forever to arrive.

If you can, try cavision directly.

the rods themselves take about 2 days to get to you and the indifocus will take about a week. Just remember to remind him once you've made the order, he's a busy guy.

Nice Rig. I was wondering if that Cavision Spacer creates enough space to take out the tape even if you have the rods slided back so that it's under it. I'm wondering because I wanted to get the cavision shoulder mount too so that'd mean longer rods spanning the length of the camera.

I was able to remove the tape. However, it is a tight space. Be careful when loading and removing media.

we had the same problems in controlling the focus with the steadycam use since we had the redrockMicro 35mm adapter. As all the trials to build a wireless remote controls are always delaying and delaying in time, we tried to find a solution by ourselves for the focus control problem.

We are building a low cost mechanical wireless focus control, and our target price would be around a thousand euro depending on some facts to come yet.

The main features will be:
15mm rods support
interchangeable gears
hard stops
wired backup
easy calibration, but not automatic
wide wireless range
confortable/ergonomic main knob
