If you watch the smaller size it's a little sharper. Im using my Sigma 180 macro infront of my Sony HC3 which gives me alot of magnification and longer working distance.

I have been looking at your video. Even though it's compressed YouTube stuff, I think the quality was good. Wish I could view the uncompressed file!

My comments is that they are a little too long. You could have edited more, cut some of the scenes when you are hunting for focus and camera shake.
Also the depht of field is a bit narrow. More light will help you.

One question: how are you able to attach the Sigma lens on your HC3?

Thanks Per Johan, I noticed it to after I had edited it. What I need to do is view the preview in a larger size to make sure everything is in focus.
Its hard though because as you get higher magnification you get less DOF and when the bug moves the cam refocuses and some times on a leg or an antenna. I wish I could figure out how to get more DOF.

I made a wood bracket to mount my 180 infront of my HC3.

In about 2 weeks I will have a site up to host videos. I will put up some HD clips for d-load. These videos look awesome on my 50 in Plasma.

Take a look at these ants. It was shot with the XL H1 using my Nikon 80-400mm, which makes a very good macro lens. This was from about 6 feet away and on tripod, and I could have even got a closer shot. Nice thing about putting some distance between you and the ants, you don't get stung.

Nice Don. I use a wooden bracket to hold the macro lens to the front of my camcorder. My problem is I have not found any hardware to make a tripod mount so I have to put stuff underneath for support or hand hold it.
