I am curious if this ships with an additional eyepiece like the GL2.
If not would it be possible to fit the Gl2 one on the XHA1?
Thanks in advance, I just like the other eyepiece it feels better and looks cool.

Sorry but they are not interchangeable. See pics below (click to see them big). GL white, XH black.

Does the eyepiece easily come off the new A1s?
Hopefully Canon will come around and offer a more fitting eyepiece similar to the Sony's "elephant ear" or the ones used on the XL series... I've grown accustomed to those and they work very well in very bright light

I did have a hard time in a few cases as light was leaking in from my right side. I had to make a conscious effort to "push" myself against it to block it out, which was not very comfortable.

Hey Marty, are you satisfied with your Canon XH-A1 purchase? As you have traded in your XL-H1, it would be nice to hear how it compares. Would it be a nice back-up camera to the Canon XL-H1?

Floris, that's a separate topic unrelated to viewfinders... please start another discussion for that instead of hijacking this one. Thanks in advance,

There are numerous eyepiece adapters, hoods, etc., you can buy, just as for still cameras.

No problem Chris. I kinda like the eyepieces of the Sony camera's. It's a pitty that Canon does not include one with this camera. Shouldn't cost much.

B&H has the chamois eypiece covers for about $7.00; or you could get a Hoodman: http://www.hoodmanusa.com/hoodfinder.asp
Or, this one is similar to ones on bigger cameras:

There's also iCuff, similar to Hoodamn.
