View Full Version : More shimmering

Back lit leaves on trees on medium to wide, backlit angular patterns, even plain old biege --- when the camera moves even slightly, there is shimmering -- as if something was trying to find itself electronically.

This time in 1080i, detail set at +26, Cinegamma 2.

My DCC is off. What gives? Can this happen because of some knee rolloff, or something like that?

Hi Bill,

If you have really set your detail level at plus 26, that is what is making things shimmer electronically. This would be more pronounced in 1080i than the 24p you've been shooting.
Just turn it down.
Off is better.
Then bump the contrast a bit when editing if you want or have to enhance your focus "look" to match your dvcam.

How are you monitoring, Bill?

Hey Nate,

Twice now I've left your website up to edit interviews to.
I love that music backdrop you've got playing. Nice design too.
