Can you please explain exactly how you created this .mov file?
What software did you use to capture? And what did you use to output the video? And with what settings?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

What software did you use to capture?
Final Cut Pro, although I suspect any capture software would gve much the same result with regards to the capturing process.
And what did you use to output the video? And with what settings?
Took it into After Effects, set the footage interpretation to upper field - ie: I dumped one field and interpolated the remaining one to give me a quick and dirty progressive image - I then scaled it down from 1920*1080 to 1280*720.
Then a bit of playing with the colour using the curves filter, a little bit of grain added and saved it out as a quicktime file using MPEG4 compression set on 'high' (full quality) - and key frames set to 2 (a key frame every other frame).
Here is a small before/after movie of the stuff I squeezed it through in After Effects:

No problems.
The quality would have been better if I had turned the Optical Stabilization off while I had it mounted on my tripod !!!! - it says to do so in the manual, but I only read the manual afterwards, and I can now see a little bit of stepping as I pan to follow the snail.
The HV10 was on full auto.

Superb quality.....would have been perfect if you could have had the head of the snail in focus....was there not enough DOF?
___ Very nicely done.

I can't get the unmodified file to download from FileFactory.....I was able to get the "snail.mov" one to D/L easily- has anyone else been able to see the before/after footage?

I literally stuck the camera on a tripod, dropped in in front of a chair, went and found some wildlife - then stuck him (the snail) in front of the camera and hit record - everything was on full auto, so I am sure there would be much you could have done to change the focus.

Hmmm...? The two files are identical - it should look like this (but moving!) >>

Does the site give you an error of some kind ?

I'd wish there were more clips out there, especially with closeups of people.

Here you are a close up of a person (!!!!)
Actually it's not quite that close, in fact it is not even a real person - HV10 1/500 sec shutter speed, hence the lack of motion blur.
I am suprised this camera goes all the way up to 1/2000 ! I might have to try that tomorrow.
