Could someone enligthen me at to the differnce between GY-HD110E & GY-HD111E.

In Europe there is a 600 Euro price difference.

GY-HD110 comes with IEEE1394 output only, while GY-HD111 allows input/output via IEEE1394. The reason is that within the EU the import taxes for video equipment that can record digitally are severely higher than for equipment that cannot record.

The HD200 falls somewhere inbetween the HD100/110 and the HD250.

THe significant difference with the HD200 and 250 is the inclusion of 720P50 and 720P60 recording to HDV tape.
The HD250 has all the bells and whistles, and the HD200 is basically a HD110 with 720P60, 720P50, & image inversion. There are also some new gamma curves in the HD200 & HD250.

HD250 features:

BNC connectors
SDI OUT
Timecode IN/OUT plus GENLOCK for slaving multiple cameras
720P60 & 720P50 encoding/recording to HDV tape (also on HD200)
Image Inversion for use with 35mm homebuilt adapters (like redrock micro, G35, etc.) (also on HD200)
Optional Studio 26-pin configuration (KY-HD250 Studio Adapter) with remote CCU control
Higher capacity battery included as standard (A/B mount is now standard on HD250)
RCA audio out instead of the 1/8" jack
4-pin XLR battery connector

1. Is the AB adapter built into the body of HD250?

2. Is the HD250 the same size as the HD110?

3. Does the HD250 has the same basic layout for connectors, sound, control buttons as the HD110?

4. I have an unused HD110 that is essentially unused yet. I also have the wideangle lens--which I will keep. Except for the obvious feature differences (SDI, HDV 60p, and so forth -- understanding that BNC connectors and similar type changes don't add new features), is there a good reason to sell-off the 110 and buy a 250 -- of course assuming I don't need the camera before the 250 is out).

As the release of the GY-HD250 gets closer and closer, the feature list keeps growing. Here are a few more really major features that we learned about recently, to be added to your list above:

Live 1080i output. For use with 1080i switchers or recorders. Not recordable in the camera, but could be recorded outboard.

User settable white shading. For tweaking the camera with different lenses. A major feature for users that switch lenses often.

Pool feed. Allows user to feed a SD composite video signal into the VTR section and record it in SD mode.

14 bit A/D converter. Allows additional gamma adjustments, improved S/N ratio, and more subtle color gradations.


Also, the correct model # for the studio adaptor is KA-HD250.

Regarding battery mounts: The plan right now is to ship the GY-HD250U with a pre-attached Anton Bauer mount, and the GY-HD200U with a pre-attached IDX mount. However, either camera can use either type of battery, just by changing out the mount.

One other thing: The GY-HD200U will now use the same body as the GY-HD250U - the longer body, versus the 100 series body.
