I have Sony DCR VX2100 with lens hood (long one). I don't know the model number but as far as I am concerned this is usual stuff attached to the camcoder while buying. On the Sony web page I have found something like this, Sony LSFS58 58mm Lens Hood for DCRVX2000 & DCRVX2100 . It looks like the shorter one. My question is: can I close this hood with lever, like in the long version? I find this closing option very handfull.

The LSFS58 does not have a lever; it's just a lens hood with a cap at the end that you remove and replace by hand.

I had one of these at one time. It was supposed to work with my Sony wide angle lens, but was too small, so I returned it.

I don't know how they picture the LSFS58 on the Sony site, but if you look for it on www.amazon.com you can see exactly what it looks like.
