Where can I get spare suspension rings for Rode VideoMic?
For every six months they seem to crack when mic is exposed to sunlight. I know that sometime in this fall Rode will be releasing additional bands for VideoMic (http://www.rodemic.com/?pagename=Products&product=VideoMic_Silicone_bands) but what should I get in the meantime?
Or maybe I should just mail to Rode prod support?

Supposedly Rode will send you some freebies if you email support and ask... I tried to do just that a month or two ago to get some spare bands for an sm3 shock mount, and received a response to the effect that some would be sent to me. Unfortunately, they never arrived, however...

Ron--

It's no big deal, really. I don't expect you to drop everything so you can send me some rubber bands. :) I really do appreciate your eagerness to help. I'll send an email.

Thanks.

I`ve had no reply regarding replacement bands from Rode.
Unfortunately I cann`t locate any store that sells the new silicone bands yet.

Can anyone recommend any substitute for those bans that can be ordered online?

Rode's Customer Support is top notch.

I have a Rode NT2 studio mic and emailed with a question about where to get some spare bands for the shockmount, and a week or so later got an envelope in the mail with two sets inside. That was the second time I have had good interaction with Rode, the first was a few years back when I actually got a response from the top guy himself. they went above and beyond the call that time as well.

I too requested a set of bands for my NT!a shockmount about 6 weeks ago. Thought it had gotten lost in the shuffle but lo and behold, a padded envelope with a set plus a niifty catalog DVD arrived day before yesterday, all the way from Australia to Toronto. Great job, Rode! It's great to do business with good guys who care about their customers! Many thanks
