Excuse my ignorance. The film festival we are looking into requires exhibition format of 35mm film or HD digital tape. Being a documentary we shot on the documentary standard Canon XL2 which is not high def. Is it still possible to export onto a HD tape for exhibition? Obviously it won't be high def quality, I know that. But they will only play HD tapes. So if it is possible to just export our regular DV project to an HD tape I think that would work.

Find the nearest production house that has HD, bring them a self-contained file of the finished project in whatever HD codec they require. Watch the transfer. If your equipment can not export in the needed codec, bring them a DV master on tape.

How would I go about finding a production house? Look up production house in the phone book?
