Hi,

I'm evaluating some steadycams for my XL-H1, Manfrotto has come out with a new system called FigRig, it has been developed by Mike Figgis. Do you know anything about it? Which are the best steadycam solutions for the XL-H1? Will they actually remove the vibrations?

Thanks a lot for your response

This topic would be better suited in the camera support section here: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/forumdisplay.php?f=42

Take a look around there for camera support and stabilization options.

The Fig Rig is not even close to a Steadicam, nore does it try to be. It's a camera grip, not a stabilizer. The best Stabilizers costs thousands of dollars but prodcuce perfectly stable shots with no vibrations or shaking.

Thanks for the info Mikko, this just confirm my impression.

And neither is the FigRig a new product. It has been around for a while now and is aimed squarely at hand-held camcorders and not meant to be used with shoulder-cams (or similar).

Normally this topic gets moved to Support Your Local Camera, but this time I'll leave it here. Closed in order to encourage the discussion to move to SYLC at http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/forumdisplay.php?f=42
