Hi all, just thought I'd post a little promo for a small, non-profit, Vegetarian Film Festival I'm organising for the 8th of October in Auckland New Zealand, seeing as we have a few Aucklanders on the forums. The "vegetarianess" of the festival comes from the films deailing with vegetarian themes, or following the adventures of vegetarian characters - so it's open to all to view and the films are accessible to a wide audience.
All the info can be got at http://www.vegetarianfilmfest.org.nz, but in summary the festival is a single day, 2 sessions of 3 films in each session for $10 a session. The two highlights would have to be McLibel, the documentary about 2 activists who refused to back down when sued by McDonalds for libel. No legal aid for libel in Britain meant they had to fight McD's themselves. A massive battle to be sure.
And we also have Academy Award winning short film, Harvie Krumpet. An endearing and rather crazy claymation film.
Anyway, hope to see some of you Kiwi's there.
