Hey all,

I have to ship a set of DVCPro50 tapes across to the counrty to an editor and I am a bit nervous because they are the only copy covering about $10k worth of shooting.

Can I just FedEx them with a "Magnetic Media" label? Is there any special treatment they need? Is there any other way to move them? Is there anyone shipped a lot of tape who can give me a success rate? (100% please - lol).

Thanks in advance.

DVCPRO tape is very hard to erase... I have a tape eraser and it:
will erase normal tape and mess up the pictures on CRTs
causes dropouts on miniDV tape
doesn't do a thing to DVCPRO tape (DVCPRO25 recording)

I've found DVCPRO tape harder to erase than miniDV. DVCPRO50 may be easier to erase.

2- Can you make protection dubs? Rent a deck and capture it at full quality and backup onto hard drive or something.

Or get insurance.
