I recently bought a Sony WCS-999 wireless microphone to go with my new Panasonic PV-GS500 camcorder. After my purchase I came across this very informative site. Upon doing a search for the above mentioned mic and reading the less then stellar comments, I'm wondering if I should return the unopened package and upgrade to a better quality mic.

I plan on using the camcorder and wireless mic to film the How-To's of salmon and steelhead float fishing.

My budget for a microphone is limited to around $200-$300.
