Here in Kumamoto there are many days of clear blue skies and hot blazing sun.

What methods do readers use to protect their cameras from excessive sunlight and heat while filming for longer periods of time?

A large umbrella clamped to some kind of nearby stand. If the camera will be out in the sun all day, I just keep the umbrella over it.
