This may seam like a silly question.

But will the HD1a use the same accessories (batteries, lens adaptors, etc) as the HD1?

As far as what Sanyo shows on their own website, the only changes are an LCD screen instead of the current OLED screen and an easier to use in-the-camera editing interface. Other than that, its the same camera, same dimensions, size and shape, so all accessories should work (both manufactuers and after-market).
