I'm making cables to hook my XLR mic to the stereo input of FX1. Since xlr mics are mono. I want to solder the tip and ring of 1/8" connector together to have a twin mono (left and right channel) then I saw the "plug-in power" Does the camera have somethng like phantom power? so connecting the tip and ring of 1/8" connector together can possible short-circuit the FX1?

No, the camera doesn't have phantom power. Its bigger brother, the Z1 does, and they share some internal hardware, which is where you're seeing the power description.
Please don't bump threads that are fewer than 10 hours old, particularly when they're made very late at night?

Yes Juan, but not is safe because the movement can make ground in case that touch any cable.
My recommedation is bougth (Radio Shack) a strong cable "Plug to Canon" and a converter plug-miniplug.
Use a plastic clamp for support the cable over the camera
