Noe August 29th, 2006, 06:22 PM Of course using the VTR function on the HD-100 is the cheapest method. The next method is using the HDV RECORDER PLAYER (http://pro.jvc.com/prof/attributes/features.jsp?tree=GA&feature_id=01&model_id=MDL101457) and then there is the BR50 deck. Those are your options.. Are there people who have been using the portable recorder/player? If so, how do you like it? How does the recorder/player compare to the deck for general use? The CU-VH1 is a consumer cross-over model, and usually OK for back-up field recording, or non-critical playback. The BR-HD50U is the professional model, and will give the best record / playback performance. Also, most professional NLE systems support the BR-HD50U. Regards, Carl Stephen L. I have not heard of anyone using it. I'm thinking of getting one myself since it's battery powered with the stock battery. It should be durable for the $1800 price tag.
