When I have a clip on the timeline in Premiere 6.5, if I hit <Enter> to start playing the clip, I get good quality video and audio in the Monitor window. All fine and good. But if I click on the <Play> button in the Monitor window to start playing the clip (instead of hitting Enter), I get blocky video (very jerky) and NO audio.
That doesn't seem right to me, but I suppose I could live with it if that's the way Premiere works. What I can't live with is that when I put the clip in a clip window for trimming, I get blocky video and NO audio when I click on the <Play> button in the clip window. Hitting <Enter> when I'm in the clip window has no effect whatsoever.
Am I doing something wrong? Are there audio preferences I need to set in a different way? Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
Thanks.
