These remarks come to you from someone who unabashedly enjoys heavy helpings of darkness, sex, violence, suspense and action in movies.
That's not what you'll find in "Little Miss Sunshine," but if you generally admire strengths and forgive weaknesses in other people, and if you like to laugh, you're not likely to ever find more entertainment for your money. I left the theater with a vague feeling that I had been lifted a notch on some scale just by virtue of having laughed.
The child lead is like a female Ralphy from "A Christmas Story." And like that movie, everyting clicks wonderfully, but with a very different and totally unique effect.
