I'm trying to capture this footage I shot in 16.9 dv SD 24f and now and I'm having major problems capturing it onto my PC. The footage once captuerd is brought into the timeline and it comes up unrendered. This is strange because it's native DV. My video looks great when I play it on the monitor directly from the camera which is an old JVC GRDV500U. Once I get it into the timeline, it looks terrible. By Terrible I mean that it looks compressed and when I try to key you really see the jagged edges. The video upone playback studders as if the machine is fast enough. My machine is a amd 64 chip with 2 gigs or ram. Plenty for what I need especially for DV editing.
My capture settings in Premiere are
For editing with IEEE1394 (FireWire/i.LINK) DV equipment.
Widescreen NTSC video (16:9 interlaced).
32kHz (12/16 bit) audio.
Drop-Frame Timecode numbering.
General
Editing mode: DV Playback
Timebase: 29.97 fps
Video Settings
Frame size: 720h 480v (1.200)
Frame rate: 29.97 frames/second
Pixel Aspect Ratio: D1/DV NTSC Widescreen 16:9 (1.2)
Color depth: Millions of colors
Can anyone help me figure this out?
