Greetings from Guatemala. I have been using both the Z1 and the A1U here, but hiking in the jungle makes the lighter weight of the A1 ideal. After a couple of days, I also dumped the tripod; the monopod works very well. Lots of humidity, but both cameras seem ok; just keep them out of air condition spaces and hour before you shoot. More later. I have also been using the manual exposure lever...a lot it is very helpful. And hope to use the Merlin shooting pyramids today.

But I have virtually no problems with it, and it looks like the footage will match very well with the Z1. (More on that later). By and large it is a very sturdy camera. I used a Sennheiser ME64 instead of the Sony issue mic and the audio is quite good.
