Kevin Crockett August 7th, 2006, 01:55 PM The literature about the GY-HD110 on JVC's states that the camera outputs to 1080i.
Does this mean 720p is shot and an in camera conversion is performed?
Also how does the JVC 1080i compare to the Sony HC-1 1080i from a color matching standpoint?

Kevin, in the HDV mode, the GYHD110U is recording a 720p signal. Upon playback, the component connectors can deliver the tape signal as 720p, or 1080i, or 480p, or 480i. The quality of all modes is excellent.

John Yamamoto August 8th, 2006, 05:58 AM Hi i happend to own HC1 first then stolen and now i own JVC GYHD101
both can produce excellent picture
the HC1 is CMos and interlaced, JVC use CCD,but i compare many times and find they are both very good.
if u can find HC1 and this is a bargain for a camera with all mic in and histogram and manual contorl ( not so easy for exposure and zoom/focus)
depend on ur output, if u downres to SD,it's hard to tell which is which

That kinda implies that it does SD downconversion but it won't right?
It will upconvert 720P to 1080i
And if you shoot DV mode it will output 480P (24p mode) or 480i for 60i mode.
correct?

correct?
Mark,
Yes, it will down-convert a HD recording to SD, on the component output. And yes it will cross-convert 720p to 1080i, on the component output.
