I am a proud member of these boards, so it saddens my to inform you I won't be posting, or using my XL2 for 6-10 weeks!

I have broken my right hand, and need surgery on my 5th metacarpal (pinky), so typing or holding a 30lb (with M2 and such...) cam i s out for now.

Not lookin for sympathy, just saying a fond farewell (for now) , and can't wait to get back to using my baby!

See ya all soon!

Time to put on the headset and turn on the voice recognition software!

Sorry to hear about your injury, hopefully you'll still be reading anyway.

Matt,

I always tell my students, "Well, the good news is you can learn to use your other hand."

Also, broken bones actually repair pretty fast!! Had my hand reconstructed a couple years back and I made them make the cast so my thumb and index finger could function. amazing how much you can do with just them!!

I broke my hand earlier in the year -- and do NOT do what I did: I couldn't use my camera (which is an XL2 also) for two months. After 5 weeks, I was getting impatient, and tried to find ways to improvise when holding my camera. You're probably thinking right now that I did something stupid and dropped the camera, but no -- my pinky finger didn't heal correctly from using my broken hand to help support the camera...it doesn't bend right still.

So yeah...be patient. It's in your best interest. ;)
