Too bad you're not selling any of this :-)

Michael Best

Will sell it all for the right price..

I'd have to take a second out on my house! Or could I put it all on layaway? LOL!!!

Michael Best
August 2nd, 2006, 08:37 AM
Ok that was funny. Actually I'm finding this area weak and I'm giving strong consideration to relocating to an area where there is more activity. I have no kids so there is little from holding me back. This is not a money making venture merely a love for filmmaking and a desire to help others make their
productions better.

I take it you own your own studio? I don't know much about Erie, PA, but maybe Pittsburg or Philadephia would work better. And if you'd really like a culture shock, we could always use you in here in Atlanta! Best of luck and I'm going to add your Bogens and Seinnheiser to my cart and check out now :-)

Studio indeed, the South is waaaay too hot for me, and please take my things out of your cart I'm shooting later...

Beth Dill

SWEET (the studio)! If only it were remotely cost effective to shoot in Erie. It's only hot for a little while down here... Too late, I've already pawned your gear.

Hey guys, I don't do fulltime wedding work but I usually pickup 4-5 weddings a year for some extra income and to allow my addiction (owning expensive cameras and equipment). I recently had to move from the Youngstown area of Ohio to the Akron/Canton area. All the weddings I have done in the past have been 2 camera shoots and they are always edited in a very creative way. All of my demos reflect this and quite honestly brag about how this really enhances the product.

However, since I moved, I no longer have a partner to shoot the B camera stuff. Usually the B camera is what I use for the "safe" shots. Prettty boring on it's own but it allows me to get a little crazy and do more creative angles and setup shots that require a lot of focusing and positioining. The B camera essentially covers up all of the zooming and focusing I have to do with more standard wide to medium shots.

Anyone in the area interested in helping out for some extra cash? Usually I just pay a flat fee to the 2nd camera man and at the end of the day he hands over the tapes that I use to edit. I am currently shooting with a Canon XL-H1 and do record in HDV. I then downsample and provide the clients with SD 16x9 versions until Blue-ray or HD-DVD becomes a viable delivery option.

I currently only have the H1 so you would need to bring a 3CCD camera to the table, preferably HDV but that is optional. I have only one wedding booked for August of this year....but I am getting asked about doing others and I currently cannot accept them unless I have someone to shoot the 2nd camera stuff.

Thanks in advance.........

Yes, I'm in the middle of shooting a documentary in the South of France concerning the Romani (Gypsy) people. I'm trying to locate someone that would be able to write a very affective treatment that would lead to funding and/or someone who would possibly have connections that would help me get the film broadcast or released cinematically here in Europe. I am hoping that by getting the film viewed by as many people as possible, that perhaps a deeper understanding on a larger scale would emerge towards these deeply misunderstood people. Thank you.

I need a second cameraman for a shoot here in ATL on Jan. 10th. Will be most of the day. If this one goes well it could lead to an ongoing gig once a month.

Need to be proficient with Canon XL2. Prefer if you have your own but we have several. 3x lens a plus. Experienced necessary (but we're not looking for a cinematographer!)

Pay is $300

Rick, I have lived in Atlanta for over 20 years, what kind of shoot? Indoor, outdoor, tripod, handheld? I have the Canon XL-2 with 20x and 3x, used to have the XL-1 and 1s. I do a lot of video for EPA. I have to be in Jacksonville, FL that week but may be able to cut that trip short. Bob

Rick,

If you get in a pinch, I work with a GL-2 and have had some experience with the XL-2. Let me know if I can be of some assistance. I am about 1.5 hours away.

Thanks.

I've got a client that needs video shoots of between 25 and 50 hotels over the summer months in Italy. He's just starting out on this project so I don't know the actual start dates or exactly where the hotels are as of yet. I just offered to try and find some people over that there. You'll deal with him directly. Anyone? Must supply demo reel. Architecture obviously preferred.

LA HD Transfer to HDCAM, Digibeta, BetaSP - costs and where?

Hi all,

I'm an indie filmmaker and recently moved to Los Angeles, CA. I shot a film in HDV 720/24P and soon I will have a 15 min. HD 720/24P uncompressed Quicktime file I'd like to output to HDCAM, Digibeta, and regular SD BetaSP somewhere in LA (yes, festivals). Anybody could point me in the right direction and give some some idea of costs per hour, i.e., 2 hrs in the transfer suite?

Muchas Gracias,

Shane Ross

The DR Group (www.thedrgroup.com) near Culver City. Contact Nathan Adams (nathan@thedrgroup.com) and tell him that I referred you. They are a great place.

Then there is Plaster City Post (www.plastercity.com). The guy there is Michael Cioni (michael@plastercity.com). A bit more expensive, but also great guys.

Hi -

Director looking for a cinematographer for a single night shoot. Short film consists of six shots (finished film should be no longer than 45 seconds). All shots are indoors inside darkened house, looking to create spooky atmosphere (the lights are out for most of it).

This is a low-budget endeavor, but I'm willing to pay someone with experience to make sure we get the lighting right. Currently, we're planning on shooting with a GL2 and a basic DV lighting kit, but we can change this if you own your own camera and/or lighting package.

Please email resume, links to examples of your work, and price. I'm most interested in seeing examples of dark interiors shot on DV. If you don't have the reel to show off but think you can do it, drop me an email.

Wolfeboro, NH is location, about an hour and change from Boston.

nickcarr@gmail.com

Thanks!
Nick

I have a shoot in Cameron, AZ on the week of Jan 22nd. Outdoor shoot, cold as hell, and probably the most exciting event you'll do in your life. :-)
We provide all gear.
PM me for details, but we'll need you for a week in the fun and sun of the Grand Canyon where it's currently 18 degrees on the rim.

wow, my dream, to be part of a shoot...
in this part of the world there are not that many schools, courses asf. as in the US, so being part of a shoot would be the best learning experience
but I guess I'd never qualify for what you call an 'audio guy'...

Hello, I'm doing a very small doco with the A1 and I need somebody to film me at work as I can't operate the machineray and camera at the same time. A Friday or Saturday night would be best. I don't want to sound cheap, (but I am) can't afford to pay at this stage. It might be good expeience for you. My camera would be used. I desperatly need some footage of me at work to round this thing out and give it some balance.
Thankyou

Director looking for a cinematographer for a full two day shoot (tentatively set for Feb. 3-4). It is a narrative spec music video that will be shot entirely in a spacious loft in downtown Dallas. I’m looking for someone to do some creative yet subtle lighting to compliment the story and be camera operator.

This is a low budget project but I am willing to pay someone with some experience to achieve good results. I’m currently planning on using the HVX200 but that could change depending on your input.

Please email me your resume, rates, and links to an online reel. If you have a demo reel email me and I’ll tell you where to send it. If you yourself aren’t interested but know someone who might be, please forward info to them.

Thanks

Is there anyone in Denver that owns a Jvc JYHD10u or HD1 that want to rent it out for a day or two?
My HD10's fire wire out took a crap. It still records but I can't get my footage to the Computer. I'm going to have a shoot this and next weekend so I have to use my cam as is, but I will then need to import it. An hd100 or the jvc deck would work also.
If anyone has any suggestions or help Please let me know.
Thanks

I'm in Columbus, but I never mind to travel for a shoot (inside Ohio is what I consider my area). I'd like to talk to you about what you need and what I could offer. First things first, I shoot with a Canon XL2, have a decent tripod with a 501 head, wireless lav, shotgun mic, boom pole, decent on-camera light, and some other miscellaneous gear. I don't know if that would be what you need for equipment for your B guy. If you would like to talk please goto my site, my phone number is there and give me a call. Of course you could e-mail me as well.

I usually do fundraising and documentary style work, but would be interested in branching out.

Thanks,
Kevin

Don't think any other cameras support it. You could use a JVC CU-VH1 deck.
