I'm shOoting a low-budget promo video next week with a Z1. Director/Editor wants to know can we synch the time-code on the DAT being used for playback with the Z1 TC?

As far as I know it's the other way around, which BTW was also the way with film cameras and video cameras that have internal TC: you lock your external DAT to the camera internal TC.

Problem is on the Z1, as on all other cameras having Lanc connector to output the TC, you have to convert that DV TC with something like this or the DAT won't recognize it:
