They are in Europe, where everything seems to be at least three times more expensive than the rest of the world. If you put in the equation 3x times the quality of the presentation/looks/PR spin of their product compared with the home brew variants/contraptions that give a similar, better or a VERY close result, they are not far from the mark. I must admit, the website looks cool...

Whatever wins the hearts and minds of users is hard to say, but we are here, in this forum, enjoy the ideas floating around and a very exciting dialog.

Please don't take the word 'contraption' in a negative way. In a letter addressed to Kubrik, introducing and describing the steadycam, he later used in THE SHINNING, the autor used the same word: contraption.

Mea Culpa

The last thing I heard about Cinemek (the G35/Guerilla35 - www.cinemek.com) is that they were still working on the final design and as soon it was actually ready to ship they would oficially re-open the forums, and start selling. They kind of decided to go on the down-low for a while till it was ready for number including over-hyped people being upset due to many unfulfilled deadlines and such. Anyway, that was about a month ago. I haven't been in contact with them since. If I get more info I'll let you know.

Oh, silly me. Well it sort of makes sense with all the shenanigans they're putting on it...wireless focus connectors, Arri accessory slots, etc. I guess maybe there are people who would need it. The footage ain't half bad though.

Edit: Just did my homework. 7500 for the lite version with no plugs/moving parts! And Euro! That's like $10k. Rediculous. Who do they think they're kidding? And what's the full version? 14k euro? Laughable.

Who says they're located in europe? As far as I can see the domain cinemek.com is registered to an american company called Bonfire Productions out of Seattle.

Is the G35 going to be suitable for professionals as there is no rod support and if your going to use cine lenses are you going to trust the adapter to support all that weight. At several grand a lens, its gotta have rod support.

I agree. Using some kind of rod support with build in support for the lens would be required for the G35. I'd go with something like the cavision rs-15 and the lens support they have for it.

I think that the G35 will need to incorporate some sort of fixing to the adapter to fix it to the rod system. If you use a rod system to just support the £2,000+ camera and £0,000+ worth of lenses you are putting tremendous stress on the adapter and the camera/lens connections.
