Just got my system, installed on camera, works great.
One question -
anyone know what the big bracket that sticks out on the right of the adaptor(from back) can be used for? Seems like it should be used to mount something, or is it just there to be in the way?

It is a mount for extra bracket pieces that you can get from AB...
I usually see them used for holding wireless recievers

Thanks, that would be worth looking into. No real place to mount a receiver on the little beauty.

On the adaptor plate (QR-JVC14HDV), the bracket is there to mount the ABWMK-Kit which is a holder for either wireless receiver or the DR-HD100 Firestore Drive. There are additional accessories you can purchase to accessorize your camcorder including the PT-Multi to breakout the single PT from the adaptor and allow 4 PT inputs.
