Hi everyone....I just wanted to throw this question out there.....

"Does the internet lack a good television production website?"

I ask this, because no matter how much I search, I can't seem to find a website that presents great television production information to me. Now, I am not talking about a forum, as this site is the best for that purpose, but I am speaking mainly about a website that has features such as hardware and software reviews, insider information, manufacturer information, previews, videos, and columns and editorials.

Does such exist? and if so, could it be better?

Would love to hear of some specific links.

That's definitely a direction that I'd like for DV Info Net to take. It doesn't have to be just forums here. It would be great to grow it into what you're describing. This place has the potential to be whatever everybody wants to help make it become.

So you would tend to agree with me then that there are no real good sites out there for that?

I'd have to agree with you -- there's nothing good on the net as far as the things you mentioned. I wish there was as well, but there isn't (and I'd be it would go over huge if it was done right).

Anyways, for that reason, I am subscribed to quite a few magazines to get my industry/hardware/software/production news. If there was any site out there like the one Corey is describing, I would be enthralled in reading articles and whatnot. However, if there was a site out there like that, you would think it would have caught on by now...

hardware and software reviews, insider information, manufacturer information, previews, videos, and columns and editorials.

Some sites that I like:
dv.com - this is a magazine/website dealey
rondexter.com

2- Like I said before, a Wiki might be helpful. Something like a film school 101.

3- Might also be neat to have articles on "best of" things, based on user feedback/polls. It could be like the dvinfo awards... most innovative product, etc. etc.
