Just a quick question about a case for the XDCAM. I know Sony has one, but I really like my Pelican case for my FX1. What are people out there using? Also, does one normally case the camera with the lens attached, or detached?

Thanks!
Max

If I were shipping the camera a hard case would be the one. Since I most work out of my van I prefer the PortaBrace Quick-draw case. I've used it for 6 years with DSR500 and now using it with F350.

cheers

I bought mine second hand and it was shipped to me overnight air in a Pelican 1650 case. The camera will fit in there with lens and vf attached. There is enough room left over to store additional discs, battery, filters, & wireless mic.

Portabrace bag for me. I never ship the camera anywhere, it travels with me always. Had airlines loose too many bags, or had them arrive the day after the shoot so I use a portabrace bag and always have a few discs and a battery with the camera.

Thanks all! I went with the Pelican 1650. I'm short, and like to stand on those babies!

Thanks,
