Hello, I am currently putting together a production for a TV show my company is filming in the Dominican Republic early next month. I was wondering if anyone who has experience in traveling out of the US with production gear and such has any advice or knowledge they could throw down. Mostly my questions revolve around transportation of rental equipment and insurence. Thanks for any help!

I was going to direct you to a column I did a couple of years ago, but the IT geniuses at DV.com appear to have misplaced it. :^(
You need to learn about the ATA Carnet, which is more or less a passport for your equipment. It allows temporary export/reimport of your equipment. Experience varies by country, but without a Carnet I have had most trouble bringing my equipment BACK into the US.
Carnet requires a deposit, but the import fee is higher --
