Is there anything forthcoming by way of an hdv palmcorder that would mate well with the HD100? I thought I had heard a rumor of a 720p30 unit from JVC. Perhaps a 3-chip version of their HD10? The Panasonic would have been good... if it was hdv.

I agree that it would be cool, but I haven't heard anything.

Here's hoping something is on its way. Sony have a whole suite of supporting models for their 1080i line in 50i and 60i (HC3, A1, FX1, Z1). JVC only have a two quite old 30p models.

I'm pretty keen for a little HD replacement for the GY-DV301E, something I can eventually use as a backup/second camera to a future HD200 or equivalent.

When is the next expo we can hope JVC will surprise us at?

I thought the whole reason we bought the HD100 was because we DIDN'T want a palmcorder.

For myself, I like to have a palmcorder to complement a shoulder mounted unit. Added flexibility.

The DV301 is hardely a palmcorder, but there is a market for all sizes of cameras. Try sticking your HD100 on the dashboard of a car...

There is also the cost difference. What good is a HD100 to me if I can't fund it? Sometimes what we want and what we have to get don't equal each other and compromises must be made. At least we would have the choice to make that compromise.
