Hi
Does anyone know if it's possible to use a Toshiba laptop as a monitor for XL1s?
Laptop has S-Video out. No firewire.
Cheers

Assuming you have USB input, you could use a USB TV Card. And feed into it throught the SVideo conection from the camera, to the TV Card. If the camera doesn't have USB, then you are going to use the composite output from the camera to the TV Card. The TV card from there, through it program, throughs a TV picture on you laptop. I have one from ATI.

Follow up: One thing that may be problem is a delay through a TV card. There tends to be a lag.

Also, the SVideo connector on your laptop probably is one way for output only.

Yes Chris, out only. I think an easier option would be to buy an 8" TV.
It will only be used for framing check by the director.

I agree with your assessment.
