On p. 133 of the manual it does seem to say that you can change the TV Output settings to PAL not only when using the AV terminal but also the component terminal.

I had a discussion with someone prior to getting the cam and came away thinking you could only switch the AV terminal to PAL.

HD 25fps via component - that's nice..
