My husband, who hasn't gotten around to registering yet, wanted me to ask the following question:
I am getting ready to shoot a digital film in the so-called 3-2-2-3 pulldown system featured in the newer Canons. What FCP protocols are required for properly processing such footage? I"m not even sure that FCP even has such a system in place. But if they do, I need to know:
A. which version(s) are suitable for this work, and
B. what the settings would be.
The idea would be to take the final edit directly over to a transfer house which could render it as a 24 fps celluloid strip.
I'm a professional editor and have been working on FCP for years but I've never worked with anything shot in the 3-2-2-3 mode and have specific concerns as to how to edit it for transfer to film (true 24fps). I can't afford to make any mistakes on this.
Help would be profoundly appreciated on this one.
