JVC Canada has announced that they will be performing the 'A' upgrades this month. They suggest sending your camera in this week (between July 12 - 14) to take advantage of the special taskforce that has been assembled in Toronto.
You pay for shipping/insurance to JVC Canada HQ in Toronto, they pay to send it back to you.

This upgrade is free only until July 31st. After July 31st, the upgrade will cost $200.

Quick question -- who has done this yet and did the process go smoothly?

It went very smooth. Sent it off and had it back in about 4 business days.

I just noticed you've posted another thread where it looks like a new problem has developed upon its return (flickering). Hmmm...not good. Someone else had a problem with the neutral density filters being stuck.

That's one of the things I've been worried about. I'm always cautious about getting something "fixed" and having something new go wrong.

That's a drag. Makes me wonder just "how many" have come back with problems? It sure didn't have that flicker when it left cause I've rechecked all my previous footage and it sure aint there!

Just a reminder: Monday July 31st is your last chance to get it done for free!
