Does anyone know of a good tutorial for using cineform with vegas?

I'm trying to change my project properties for video in vegas to 1080/24 but it's not listed as an option. What settings should I use?

I've already successfully installed the trial for cineform connect hd. Am I doing something wrong? Do I have to make vegas somehow "rocognize" that I'm using cineform or are the two totally independent?

Vegas and CineForm are complete independent, yet work very well together. Vegas doesn't have a 1080p24 preset but it is simple to make one.

* Select File -> New.
* Select a Template that is close e.g. "HDV 1080-50i (1440x1080, 25.000 fps)"
* Change the Frame Rate to "23.976" (the real 24.)
* Change the Field Order to "None"
* Rename the template to - "HD 1080-24p (1440x1080, 23.976 fps)" or similar
* Click on the disk icon to save.

Now you can open any new project as 1080p24.

Awesome!

Two more questions:

1. You said -- Select a Template that is close e.g. "HDV 1080-50i (1440x1080, 25.000 fps)"

Since I am using a NTSC camera, would I want to choose 1080-60i (1440x1080, 29.970fps) . . . or woud I want to stick with what you said because it's closer to the 24fps framerate?

2. Is there a similiar method for setting up vegas for 720/24pn material?

Thanks again

Try it, you will work it out. Sorry I'm in a rush at the moment.

No seriously it is so easy. Try it youself first, then ask me if you have an issues.

Okay. Tried it. I think I figured out how to import and work with 720p material. Great.

However, my other question is not something I can test, I don't think. (Well, I can test it, and both methods seem to work, but what method is preferred -- HDV 1080-50i (1440x1080, 25.000 fps) or 1080-60i (1440x1080, 29.970fps)?

See original question below...

Thanks

As you have created a new template, is has no baring to what you started with. I just made it simple, fewer parameters to change -- but you could have done the same with 4x3 NTSC DV template.
