Can you mess up an inkjet printer by running photo paper upside down, etc? I don't think one can, but figured I'd ask before chancing a hundred dollar printhead, hehe

I want to make business cards (more like acquaintance cards at the rate I'm going). I thought it'd be neat to have an image on the print side of some pro glossy paper and have contact info in simple B/W on the back. Whether it'll work/bleed through/misfeed/etc is yet to be determined.

Feeding it shouldn't be a problem, but the back side probably isn't coated to accept the ink and may bleed. Depending on how much it bleeds it could cause a mess and get ink on later prints.

I've never seen double sided glossy paper, but I've never looked for it. I know that there are double sided matte papers.

Jeff, have you got access to a b/w laser printer? If so, just print the back side on the laser printer and the picture on the glossy side using your inkjet printer. But make a test wether to print on the laser printer or the inkjet printer first.

I have seen semiglossy paper, sort of like what you see in magazines. Not full on photo paper, but better than plain paper.

I've used double-sided glossy paper for tri-fold brochures, but it was a lighter stock -- you might search for brochure paper and see if you can get a heavy stock for the cards.

Thanks for all the advice and ideas! The laser printer one sounds slick, I'll make sure to try it on an old one in case the stuff sticks to the fuser or something silly.
