View Full Version : tripod for sony VX2000 / PD150 Mark Thomas February 16th, 2003, 03:46 PM what make tripods do you guys put your camera on? Boyd Ostroff February 16th, 2003, 07:26 PM I'm using a Manfrotto 3221WN tripod with a 501 head. This all came together including a nice soft carrying case for around $300 I think. It was significantly less expensive than buying the head and tripod separately, at least at the store I went to. Have been very pleased with it. Matt Stahley February 16th, 2003, 09:47 PM I have a Libec M20 $200 from zotz with carrying case as well. Steve Nunez February 16th, 2003, 10:04 PM Tripod: Bogen/Manfrotto 3221 WN (WN=Wilderness) Head: Bogen/Manfrotto 3130 (Video Fluid Head) Works great for the Canon GL2 which is similar in size and weight to PD150 and VX2000.... The tripod is excellent- very sturdy! 3130....head creaps a little if not tightened a bit- otherwise a nice solid system at a great price point. It is a nice sturdy tripod, and the "wilderness" feature is in the rubber pads on the feet. They raise up when turned to expose a metal spike. I only have one minor nitpick. The snapping leg locks have a really heavy spring and close with a BANG. Be very careful, they can really pinch or smack your fingers! :-) Steve Nunez February 17th, 2003, 10:02 AM I agree- the snap locks for the legs are rough and it's the 1 nitpick I have with it....otherwise a nice set of sticks. Bryan Beasleigh February 19th, 2003, 11:00 PM Those snap locks eat body parts. I had a few blood blisters when I was checking them out. I settled for the 344B with the thumbscrews. Old fashioned but they don't bite. I also went for the 136 head, spikes and leg warmers. The leg warmers are actually just a rubber grip that stretches over the top section of the legs. I thought it was pure BS but after using the pod I think it's a great idea. Bogen / Manfrotto is a quality line. |
