I'm making a presentation to the Tulsa Final Cut Pro Users Group on Tuesday.

For a test, I shot a micro short film, an actors monologue and some other real-world tests for the presentation. Here is a link to some of the frame grabs from the shoots.

Does anyone have a link to a frame grab of the SSE? Someone will probably ask me about it and I never experienced it.

Someone will probably ask me about it (SSE) and I never experienced it.If you've never experienced SSE, then that *is* your experience. In other words, if I were in your shoes and somebody asked me about SSE, I would say that I've never experienced it.

"Yes, this is Oklahoma. Notice the yellow CA around the sun highlight."

CA is not yellow. That looks like blooming or overexposure. It's nice to use a grad ND filter for that scenario.

Despite some of the CA problems it still looks good. On that first shot, the rear wall looks awfully sharp. Are you certain the focus was completely controlled and didn't get bumped?

On the "in focus" drill, I see the same probs I get in low light sometimes--that continual overlay gradation from magenta at the top to green at the bottom.

When do we get to see the short?

For the frame grabs I exported a still out of Streamclip. This makes a TIFF file. I converted to JPEG in PhotoShop.

I captured in HDVxDV, fixed timecode breaks and transcoded to DVCPro HD and AIC in MPEG Streamclip. Then edited in FCP5. The AIC ends up 24p while the DVCPro HD ends up 60p. Both look good.

Are you certain the focus was completely controlled and didn't get bumped?

I was a one man band on this so I can't be certain if it's a good focus. I also adapted my Arri SR2 matte box and follow focus, so it wasn't exacty rock solid and the gear slipped every once in a while.

I'll see if the Tulsa FCPUG will host the short.
