I'm looking to purchase 2 or 3 cameras that are similar to the GL2 very soon, but I'd thought I'd ask this question here. I've long since been told to just go w/ the GL2, so I haven't every really considered an alternative that is comparable price/performance wise. Are there any other cameras that are better than the GL2 for the price? (nothing HD)

I'd recommend the Panasonic ag-dvc30. With rebate, it comes to slightly less than the GL/2, but feature wise, I think, comes out ahead.

does it handle low light better and how does the overall image quality compare?
