Hello all,
I have the Sennheiser wireless g2 100 series mics and most of the events that I used them they would hiss and pop intermittantly. When they're not hissing and popping they sound awesome. I'm running 2 G2 series wireless mics through a Canon 4 channel XLR adapter on my Canon XL1s.
Has anyone had similar problems and found solutions?
Thanks,
Eric

hmm...Don't own the unit yet, but have you tried the squelch settings?
I'm just theorizing here, but Squelch is kinda like a gate, as far as I understand. It might be that you have the squelch funcion's threshold set to low wich would "open" the gate more than its used to and hence let hiss go by, or any other low level sound could be triggering it to open and that could be the pops but i'm not sure enough. Try to play with the different squelch settings.

Well, if the transmitter is off, but the receivers are on - I get some nasty hissing - along with when I'm intruding in some nasty RF. The beauty of the Sennheisers is that you can change on the fly...

did you have the input set to mic or line? the g2 receiver output should be +6db and the input on the mixer should be line level.
Once I had the input set to mic and that resulted in popping.

I just experienced the same problems with running 2 systems, my squelch was set on "mid", what was yours?

stupid question but have you tried different frequencies?
also, as someone mentioned, have you tried shutting off the transmitter to see if you still get noise in the receiver?
this is the best test to see if it is some sort of interference from something else on that frequency or something near it.
