I recommend "If Chins Could Kill," by Bruce Campbell. The sub title is somthing like "Confessions of a B-Movie Actor." It's in paperback. Tremendously funny; he's a great writer. Of course if you're an Evil Dead fan, you probably have an autographed copy. He gives the recipe for making homemade blood, but my favorite thing was his description of the Vas-O-Cam...for a smooth dolly shot, on their microbudget production back in the days when these things were done in film, they set up a 2 X 4 over a couple of sawhorses, put gaffer tape over the 2 X 4, and greased it down withi Vasoline (hence Vas-O-Cam). They made a bracket for the camera to rest on, like an upside down U, and placed it over the greased 2 X 4 and they were able to get perfectly smooth moves. I believe his web site is www.bruce-campbell.com

A Buddy of mine picked up a copy for me at a book signing, (I couldn't make it.)

Bruce has some great info/anicdotes/advice pulled from his experiences working both as actor and crew on some of Raimi's low budget joyrides before they became famous.

I agree that it's a great read.
