Hi, I'm working on a project an I need to export a combination of many layers from After Effects 7. Since I can't export uncompressed video (1 min=almost 2 gig) because the project is huge, I'd like to know which would be the best compression option to export. Once exported, these files will still have to go to Premiere Pro 2.0, so they need to be compatible.
I have the following options:
- Microsoft DV
- Cinepak
- Indeo video 5.10
- Intel indeo video 4.5
- Intel indeo(R) video R3.2
- DVX 6.1
- DVX 6.1 YV12
- Xvid mpeg4
- Microsoft video 1
- Microsoft RLE
- Intel 4:2:0 video V2.50

I'd recommend the Microsoft DV format, as it's only about ~13GB per hour of video.

I would install huffYUV or MSU Lossless codec (http://www.compression.ru/video/ls-codec/index_en.html) (be sure to uncheck Enable delta-frames and check Always suggest RGB for output).

After reading about the MSU Lossless codec I was amazed. It sounds great. Did you try it?

I use it to export footage between Vegas and After Effects, because Microsoft and Sony have incompatible DV codecs.
