You'll see some exclusive footage here from our next short film currently in post-production (more on that soon). You'll also see some examples of motion graphics we've produced for other indie filmmakers, animated series, and businesses as well as examples from some of our theme park work. I'd love to hear some feedback. http://www.notafraid.com/NA_Demo.html Thanks! It was all shot around the Isle of Man(UK) on Canon XM2,Sony PD-170 and Sony PDX-10 in Ikelite underwater housings. I'd be grateful of any comments, good or bad! Many thanks,Phil Chris Knight March 29th, 2007, 07:49 PM The link in this post is to the rough edit of an experimental film that I've been working on. It's the first experimental film that I've done. The theme obviously has to do with War and Violence, and I have a specific idea of what I wanted to say with the film, but i want to see how others interpret it. Can everyone who watches the film post a comment about what they think the film means, along with any thoughts about improving the film technically/aesthetically? Thank you all. I plan on submitting this to a festival for other filmmakers in high school, so I'm trying to make this as good as possible. http://www.fmpfilms.com/movies/Brush.mov Brush.mov (27.9 mb) It is also on youtube if you can't watch quicktime movies for some reason. Keep in mind that youtube video quality sucks and it stretches the 16:9 video to fit a 4:3 frame. http://youtube.com/watch?v=DIkp5UF2gx4 Jason Burkhimer March 29th, 2007, 08:09 PM I know! Its about war against the Cavity Creeps, right? Geir Inge March 30th, 2007, 10:49 AM Heres a video I shot sunday 18.march 2007. It's from a island where there are thousands of seabirds. This is little early in the season, but I shot the white tale eagle and some of the landscape. Feel free to comment. PS, there's a shaky part because of a the wind coming up from the sea. I'm using a tripod, though. Sunday trip to Runde (http://home.tussa.com/gibb/Filmar/Rundeisland.wmv) Liam Hall March 30th, 2007, 01:27 PM Is it about the lack of dental hygiene in the military? It means you ripped off Martin Scorcece's "The Big Shave"... http://youtube.com/watch?v=83i8G6o0quc Adam Bray March 30th, 2007, 10:35 PM I would shorten it to 1 minute at the absolute most. And use all the very best footage you have, along with with a much better score. It's way too long. I feel like I have seen the whole thing already. No need to see the feature. Geir Inge March 31st, 2007, 07:03 AM I'm working on a wildlife filmproject from the west coast of Norway. Heres 3 min from some scenes I shot of Mr Otto, the sea otter. My narration, might be a mix of engllish/norwegian, but I've tried my best. The coaster you'll see in the film is transporting cargo, travellars and turists along the coastline of Norway, on its daily routh, way up to North Cape. Filmed with Canon XL H1, edited with Avid Liquid 7.1 Pro. File size(wmv): 47 mb Feel free to comment. The member of Congress said "America is at war." The officer corrected him, and said "No sir. The Army is a war. America is at the mall." That's what the film is about. Short films in the Suspense/Horror genre will be showcased at the Stanley’s famous Concert Hall on Sunday, September 16th. The Stanley Hotel is famous among film aficionados for its inspirational role in Stephen King's novel "The Shining". Known for its architecture and magnificent setting, the Stanley Hotel has been an Estes Park landmark since 1909. The hotel has been featured in film and television as one of America’s most haunted hotels, with numerous stories from visitors and staff. The EPFF is headquartered at the historic Park Theatre in downtown Estes Park. Both the Stanley Hotel and Park Theatre are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The 2nd Annual Estes Park Film Festival will take place September 14th through the 16th, 2007 with an awards ceremony on the final night! Our first film festival showcased 35 films from across the country at the oldest movie theatre west of the Mississippi. In addition to the Park Theatre, our 2nd annual festival will also screen student films at the Lakeshore Lodge and the Historic Stanley Hotel (made famous by Stephen King's book and film The Shining). Been a while since I posted here. Well, I've been busy with school and my new job etc. Anyways here is a video I was working on, it's now finished. It's not a live action video, it's an animation I made with my scanner, and photo feature on my Sony camcorder. It doesn't really have a story, it's more of an experimental music video. There are hidden cryptic messages in it if any anyone is extremely bored and feels like solving them. Shot on two FX1s, a $26 budget. Please watch and leave feedback! -Andy Peterson Douglas R. Bruce April 4th, 2007, 04:32 PM Over the past 6 months I have been adding high resolution clips from Japan to my site. If you have a moment over, please surf over to my site and take a look at the clips in the Gallery section. Most clips need a fast BroadBand connection to keep the download time short. However I have now started to add lower resolution versions to make the clips more accessible. You'll need Flash player 8 too! Let me know what you think. Thanks in advance, Douglas The link is http://www.gaijin-eyes.com Ken Diewert April 4th, 2007, 09:12 PM Andy, I was wondering where you guys were at with this. I just finished watching the pilot and really enjoyed it. The production value is up. Nicely cut, great ensemble. I loved the addition of the Dwight Shrute bobblehead. And the Lance Hunter game show meltdown. BTW, did I just see Ben/Jamie on a national commercial for Rogers? As I recall, you were going to pitch it to the Comedy Channel? Good luck with it, and keep us posted. It is kind of addicting. Elmer Lang April 4th, 2007, 11:24 PM Beauty by Jennifer. Music by Loomis. Film by Elmer. I'll Be Loving You (1:52) http://elmerlang.com/I'llBeLovingYou2.html Liam Hall April 5th, 2007, 11:10 AM Is this for real? I thought it was a spoof, I mean, you've got a bath in your kitchen. Must be a spoof. Strangely though, I actually quite enjoyed it. But, it did feel like the equivalent of reading someone's private love letter. Liam. Justin Sabo April 5th, 2007, 11:23 AM Hello Everyone, I have just completed a fictional commercial, entitled, "Copycat." It is one of the many fake Get a Mac ads out there. I wanted to take a professional approach and see that with the presence that Windows Vista looks similiar to Mac OSX, I could that from concept to a finished piece. My girlfriend came up with the idea, and was behind the camera while my friend Tom, the PC Guy and I were in front of the camera. It was shot on my HD110 at 720P/24P. Please note that we did not have a green screen or good lighting (as evidenced in the Outtakes section). I would really like to know what professionals and amateurs alike think so please critique--I would like to know both the good and the bad. I also recently learned better webpage creation techniques, such as SEO. I wanted to experiment with that as well, so I built the site around that. While I did use some graphics from Apple.com, I did my own coding. I took the concept of "copycatting" into the design of the website. And finally, here is the website: http://www.justinsabo.com/js/getamac Thanks again for taking the time to view/review it! Liam Hall April 5th, 2007, 01:56 PM My 10 pence worth: If you're going to 'copy' something, you should make sure you add something or improve something from the original. This just looked homespun, actually it looked like a Microsoft Christmas video. Hard, but I hope fair. Liam. Chris C. Collins April 5th, 2007, 02:47 PM Although these Mac Ads seem to be quite mock-magnets, this one certainly sticks out in quality and professionalism. I have to be honest, it did make me smile; but not laugh out loud. Well done though! -C. Collins Chad Terpstra April 5th, 2007, 07:06 PM Looks pretty good for the lighting and backdrop you had (as seen in the outtakes section). But I could see there was something strange about the background in the video. Good job though. Keep shooting. Juan Tizon April 6th, 2007, 05:59 AM Hello everyone! Here you have a bunch of music videos we´ve done the past year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8dsnZ3TKzI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2rOVddbgyQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rV1AJgErw3E http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wU-01r7YS7g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLwd-viBi1M http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=juantizon&page=2 All were done with a budget between 400€ and 1800€. We do everything in the process, from idea to delivery. 90% were shot with a DVCam Dsr-400pk (fujinon 17x9mm). Edited in FCP, with some AEFX. We don´t have too much time to spend in each project, they are always in a hurry. :( I think that could be the major problem with our videos... they look kind of fastdone... Thanks for taking the time to view it! Sean Gillane April 6th, 2007, 11:49 AM "Soy la Ley" was a pretty cool song with a pretty cool video. It looked like you probably spent the most time on that one too, so there might be some truth to what you're saying. I wouldn't say the others felt like they were rushed productions, they just aren't at the same level. Nice work. -Sean- Matt Newcomb April 6th, 2007, 10:10 PM This is a film that I wrote shot and edited in under 48 hours for a film contest last year. It's the work I'm most proud of so far, but mostly because I can only convince people to help if it's only for a weekend. Anyway enjoy. http://youtube.com/watch?v=q_oWdB7PdAI Juan Tizon April 7th, 2007, 09:15 AM Thank you. "Soy la ley" was recorded in one day (chroma in the morning, running and singing in the afternoon) and edited in five or six days. So i thing it is that we´re starting to do things right ;) Herman Van Deventer April 7th, 2007, 10:51 AM Some of my work shot on the Canon XL1 the past couple of years. 1.Instrumental music video / Shot one of hottest days (temperature 46 deg. celcius ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmgx4Eb4Kgo 2. Scenes from TV series / Wolfgang Riebe / Master Magician. RIPSAW - cutting a man in half / Illusion was based on camera trickery. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DvVWhcojoI Herman. Bradley D Barber April 8th, 2007, 06:03 AM I would love some feedback for our new show. We shot it with a GL-2 edited Vegas6. Real basic stuff. I would love your feedback as I am always trying to improve. Thanks! http://www.dogster.com/video/513953/Pet_places Mike Gorski April 8th, 2007, 12:24 PM Here's a short edit I made using my DVC30. Tell me what you think, sorry for the poor compression on Putfile. When you do view it, click the right button on the bottom and view it in "original" size to eliminate the nasty artifacts that come with putfile's recompression. Flight (http://media.putfile.com/Cessna-72) Edward Tomecko April 9th, 2007, 06:58 AM What do you guys think? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESk_KAsTA0A Edward Tomecko April 9th, 2007, 09:08 AM Nice work Mike. I'm jealous - i wish i could shoot from a plane! keep up the good work! Liam Hall April 9th, 2007, 09:53 AM Nice track, though probably a bit long, it could do with a radio edit. Video doesn't add much, but it's YouTube friendly. It could have done with a creative theme or two rather than just a collection of unconnected performances as the performances in themselves just aren't strong enough to sustain interest. Not sure about the dissolves at the start, just makes the scene look badly directed. Also, the 'live performance' shots are very badly lit and you should just take them out. I'd go back to the edit suite and work it over. The track deserves it. Liam. Herman Van Deventer April 9th, 2007, 04:45 PM 1. Utilise the colourful vehicles you had in your plot. 2. Like said / Drop the dissolves at the beginning. 3. The glasses and bottles stay full throughout the whole party. If you hired me, i could've helped with the continuity by consumption ! 4. Otherwise I second the first comments on your video. Cut a 3min 40sec version.(app.) Herman. Edward Tomecko April 9th, 2007, 07:06 PM thanks for the input. i agree with everything suggested.. i did it all in one day(shooting). it was last minute and unorganized. edited it in about 7 hours. they paid more money for the club rental than the video! it was a learning experience. you know how these things go. thanks Chris Harris April 10th, 2007, 01:47 AM Check out the adventures of Felix and Marcus, two high school jocks who aren't the brightest of individuals. They're preparing for the "Bell Game", an annual football game between two rival high schools, in order to retain their coveted Bell Trophy. http://chrisjharris.com/Site/Video%20Gallery_files/bell_game_movie_web.mov We did this back in November. It's a bit long, it clocks in at about 8 minutes, but hopefully it's somewhat entertaining. Tell me what you guys think! Jourdan McClure April 10th, 2007, 10:38 AM Here is a wedding video I made recently. Your thoughts as always are welcome. This was captured with a DVX100A. http://home.surewest.net/jourdan/janae.mov Chris Harris April 10th, 2007, 01:03 PM It's only about 2:16 in length, right? Cause the file went up to 6:26 but there was nothing there. Anyway, here's what I liked about it. The music worked, it was very appropriate for the flow of the segment. I liked the shots of the garden, they really set the atmosphere of the wedding. I also thought the slight vignetting was a great choice. The oversaturation when the people stood up to applaud was a nice effect too, although just being picky here, a bit abrupt. I only have one other small thing to nitpick about it, the footage is a little too close up for my tastes, and there's a lot of zoom used. But man, great work! Certainly a lot better than anything I could do. Jourdan McClure April 10th, 2007, 02:53 PM Chris, Thanks for the kind words. Also thank you for taking the time to watch it and yes the film is only 2 minutes and some change. I just goofed up and left the audio track uncut. Im going to fix that. Take care. Jaime Valles April 11th, 2007, 12:06 PM Hello, all! Just wanted to let you know that my first feature film, CASI CASI, will be available on DVD from HBO Video beginning May 15th. It was shot with a very small crew using a DVX100 camera, and has been making a splash in a bunch of film festivals last year. The DVD will have a feature-length audio commentary (which we recorded at HBO's studio in a very cool session!) as well as a making-of featurette. All you indie filmmakers will get a kick out of this movie, as well as the behind the scenes feature and the commentary. For more info, check out the official website: www.casicasi.com. The DVD will be available at major stores, as well as online through the usual retailers (Amazon, Walmart, Borders, etc.) You'll also be able to catch it on HBO television beginning in October, but you'll want to see the DVD because of all the making-of stuff. Thanks for your support. Making this movie was possible in large part due to the knowledge of the members of DVinfo. It is a priviledge to finally announce the availability of our DVD on this forum. XiaoSu Han April 12th, 2007, 04:20 AM http://www.stilfabrik.ru/movies/soph...hietrailer.mov http://www.stilfabrik.ru/movies/soph...hietrailer.wmv hd! http://www.stilfabrik.ru/movies/sophie/sophietrailerhd.mov enjoy, comments and critics welcome! Heath Vinyard April 12th, 2007, 01:32 PM Hey guys. I finally have something to show. This was actually done last year, and some of you might remember me talking about something I did that didn't come out well. So we cut it "Grindhouse" style and it actually works pretty well as a trailer. It was originally to be a 15 minute short. Anyway, hope you enjoy it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTbyTBdpIEM Greg Quinn April 12th, 2007, 06:50 PM wow, the Letus really works well - nicely photographed. Marco Wagner April 12th, 2007, 08:46 PM Here is some footage from a $200 8mm Sharp camera from 1999 -2002. I converted it to 16:9 and tried 24p. When viewed smaller it doesn't look to bad. Just wanted to gather some opinions and thoughts on this now VERY old footage. I uploaded it to google video as a .mov, so I'll have to try other formats and probably read to find the best settings and format for GV. Here is the blurb and link: Control 1999 - 2002 gives us the sport side, in 9 minutes, what film maker Marco Wagner went through to make the three "I Believe I Can Fly" shorts. Loads of skatboarding, ATB, and mountainboarding condensed into the choice shots. Not bad for someone who was pushing 30 at the time. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3057202594058612439 Jourdan McClure April 13th, 2007, 03:24 PM Loved it..great work.
