Hi
I've lost controls in the log & capture box via the mouse. All other controls work except the 'play' button. I've also lost control via the keyboard.
The Log & capture box is telling me the VTR is OK.
Help please.
Regards, Dave

Have you checked your device control settings? Perhaps they somehow got set to a non-controllable device?

Hi Boyd, yes I did. Can't think of what else to do.
Would a clean install help?

I just followed Ken's instructions for dumping and re-setting pref's, still no change.

Very strange... what kind of deck or camera are you using? Is there perhaps a menu option there which could affect this? Does it show "DV IN" on its LCD screen while connected to your computer? How about the firewire cable - have you tried a different one? Have you tried hooking up a different camera/deck to see if you still have the same problem? Does your camera/deck work properly when connected to a different computer? Have you tried capturing with iMovie as a test?
Just brainstorming...

I'm using a Panasonic DV 2000 deck, and have just discovered that everything works fine if firewired directly from the camera to the DV in. (Canon XL1s) The deck settings look OK and nothing has been changed since using the computer yesterday. I suppose it's possible that the firewire from computer to deck has developed a fault, but at the moment I don't have a spare to try.
I'm going to try a clean install to see if that makes a diference.
Thanks for your interest Boyd.

Thanks for your help Boyd, panic over.
Faulty firewire. I feel a bit silly for not checking the basics sooner.
Kind regards, Dave
